Meet the 2015 Crew

Cheryl Carmona - Farm Manager

Cheryl Carmona has been gardening in Baltimore for 8 years.  Her interest in sustainable agriculture led her to an environmental science Masters program at the University of Maryland, where she studied agricultural soil and watershed sciences. With this training, Cheryl has been working to build an urban agriculture project that uses sustainable practices to raise awareness about the connections between agriculture and the environment, grow healthy food, and develop an urban community around agriculture.

Dana Rushovich, Production Manager

Dana was initially exposed to urban agriculture while studying Environmental Science and Policy at University of Maryland. Through various volunteer work and involvement with sustainability initiatives on campus she became passionate about sustainable agriculture and the local food movement. Upon graduating in May 2013 she did a three month apprenticeship at Piedmont Biofarm in Pittsboro, North Carolina before starting at Boone Street Farm in September 2013. She has really enjoyed learning about urban farming in Baltimore and has loved working with the Boone Street Team during the 2014 season. She cannot wait to grow the project even more during the 2015 season.
