Alternative Break Group from University of Delaware
We want to extend a huge thank you to the alternative break group from University of Delaware that came to the farm last Friday. They spent all week working at different urban farms in Baltimore and we were lucky to get them on their last day! They were a huge help in getting the space cleaned up and ready for the upcoming season. They helped us weed out the hoophouse rows, consolidate our compost piles, paint the benches and the boards on the hoophouse and add fresh wood chips to the walkways. They got so much stuff done that we barely had any work for our monthly volunteer day that happened on Saturday!
We are also very excited to announce that we started preparations on our new site! We have adopted a lot on St. Ann's Street that we will be using to expand our production of both annuals and perennials. With the help of the alternative break group we were able to put down compost on three new rows that will be ready to plant in about two weeks.
