First Market Stand and Obama's Young African Leadership Initiative

We had an eventful week at the farm this past week. With the help of our wonderful youthworks crew we were able to get our farm stand off the ground. They helped hand out flyers in the neighborhood and staff the stand on Wednesday afternoon. Everyone in the neighborhood has been really excited about our beautiful tomatoes and now they have a place in the neighborhood to purchase them! As the farm is expanding this year we are trying our best to make our produce available to local residents at an affordable price. Come stop by the corner of Greenmount and 21st, Wednesdays from 3-5:30 to purchase our tomatoes and other crops. We will have the EBT machine available every week and as always you will get double your dollars when using your EBT card. Hope to see you all there!

This past Saturday we were lucky to get a group of 10 fellows from the Obama's Young African Leadership Initiative. They were all inspiring young professionals from all over Africa working to better their countries. They were a huge help in getting the garden looking nice and ready for the second half of the season!
